Certified Pool Knowledge You Can Verify.

Aqua Heart Pools combines hands-on field experience with professional education from the Pool & Hot Tub Alliance (PHTA). We require our pool service technicians to hold current Certified Pool & Spa Operator (CPO®) credentials so the people caring for your water understand the fundamentals behind safe, reliable pool operation.

Our Professional Credentials

Training Behind the Aqua Heart Name

These credentials are issued through the Pool & Hot Tub Alliance, an industry organization providing professional education and certification for pool, spa and hot tub professionals.

Certified Pool and Spa Operator certificate for Aqua Heart Pools
PHTA CPO®

Certified Pool & Spa Operator

The CPO® program covers core pool-operation knowledge including disinfection and water balance, chemical testing, circulation, filtration, safety, troubleshooting, record keeping and chemical-feed practices.

What it means for your pool: the technician servicing your water is expected to understand why adjustments are being made—not simply add chemicals by habit.

PHTA / GENESIS®

Certified Builder Professional

The Certified Builder Professional designation is part of PHTA's Pool Builder & Design Professional pathway. It adds formal education around pool construction, business practices and the standards used by professional builders.

Why it matters in service: broader knowledge of how pools are built and how their systems work supports better observation, communication and troubleshooting in the field.

Why Certification Matters

Your Pool Is a Water System, Not Just a Backyard Feature

Good service protects water quality, equipment and the experience of everyone using the pool.

⚗️

Water Chemistry

Understanding sanitizer, pH, alkalinity, stabilizer and water balance helps technicians make measured adjustments instead of guessing.

💧

Circulation & Filtration

Clear water depends on more than chemicals. Flow, filtration, cleaning and operating conditions all affect pool performance.

🛡️

Safety & Operations

CPO education addresses chemical hazards, operating practices, testing, troubleshooting and other fundamentals of responsible pool operation.

The Aqua Heart Standard

Certified Technicians. Consistent Service.

At Aqua Heart Pools, CPO certification is part of the professional standard we set for technicians who service our customers' pools. Certification does not replace field experience; it strengthens it with structured education and an industry-recognized knowledge base.

We pair that training with routine testing, documented service, clear customer communication and hands-on experience with North Houston-area pools.

What We Bring to Each Visit

Professional water testing and balancing
Routine cleaning, brushing, netting and vacuuming as applicable
Filter and circulation awareness
Algae prevention and problem identification
Clear communication when a pool needs additional attention

Certification FAQ

What Homeowners Should Know

What is a Certified Pool & Spa Operator (CPO®)?

CPO® is a Pool & Hot Tub Alliance certification focused on the knowledge and skills used in proper pool and spa operations. PHTA says the program includes disinfection, water balance, testing, circulation, filtration, safety and troubleshooting topics.

Is CPO® a Texas state-issued license?

No. CPO® is a professional certification issued through the Pool & Hot Tub Alliance, not a license issued by the State of Texas. Aqua Heart Pools uses the credential as part of our technician training and professional service standard.

Are Aqua Heart pool service technicians CPO certified?

Aqua Heart Pools requires the technicians servicing our customers' pools to hold current CPO® credentials. This supports a consistent baseline of professional pool-operation knowledge across our service team.

What does the Certified Builder Professional credential mean?

It is part of PHTA's Certified Pool Builder & Design Professional pathway, powered by GENESIS®. The pathway provides professional education and third-party validation related to pool construction and design knowledge.

Does certification guarantee that a pool will never have a problem?

No. Weather, equipment failures, heavy swimmer loads, water source conditions and other factors can affect a pool. Certification provides training and knowledge; ongoing inspection, testing and appropriate maintenance are still necessary.

Can I see Aqua Heart Pools' credentials?

Yes. Our current credential images are displayed on this page so customers can see the professional certifications behind our service.
